Van Hansis’s NIKITA episode | Preview clips and where/how to watch Season 2 Episode 7 ‘Clawback’

Vantober turns to Novanber

Van Hansis’s episode of NIKITA, ‘Clawback,’ will air tonight, Friday 4th November at 8pm/7c on the CW Network. Wrote Van on his Facebook this week:

If you missed his teaser, many believe the two hints were the ones that said “The Russians are coming!” and referred to this role as being the polar opposite of Luke Snyder – I’m paraphrasing from memory now, badly, but it’s hard to imagine someone more different from Luke than either Danny Hill or Adrian Viccellio!

For a complete wrap-up of NIKITA information, check out this earlier post.

Where to watch

For those of you in the US, but not familiar with the CW, it’s one of the “minor” networks (like UPN or Fox) and is not available in all markets.

However, they offer a zip-code lookup to find local stations and also list Satellite/Cable alternatives by city on that same page.

For viewers in Canada, it will also be simulcast on CTV Two.

For viewers in the UK, Wiki claims that Sky’s “Living secured the rights to air Nikita in the United Kingdom as the centerpiece of the channel’s autumn schedule. Living’s head of acquisitions Amy Barham said ‘Nikita is the hottest, most action-packed drama of the season with an amazingly strong female lead that we know will excite and engage Living’s audiences this autumn. We’re thrilled to be able to bring it exclusively to the channel. Chase will follow in 2011, providing a new favorite show for all of our procedural fans.’

That being said, I found a nice show page on Living’s website, but couldn’t actually find it on the schedule (current season or last).

For those of us in the rest of the world (or who are unable to be in front of their TVs tonight), desperate to see it live, you can watch it via LiveStream. The source streamer appears to be YYCast, who stream The CW Austin (TX). I just checked, and the stream is definitely working, pretty good quality, and the timing is correct. Although Austin is in the Central time zone, Nikita will air at 7pm in Austin (8pm Eastern) so you’ll be able to catch the initial broadcast live with this stream.

I have seen a few other links to sites that use this feed. This includes TVPC and Stream2Watch.me. For both of these, make sure you wait until the advertisements allow you to click to close. If you click too soon, it will prompt you to download software – something you should not need to do to view Nikita. I was able to get TVPC to work just now, and when I did my initial NIKITA post several weeks ago, I got the Stream2Watch link to work as well, but it wasn’t cooperating when I tried it just now.

Personally, I’m sticking with the YYCast link because it has no advertising delay! I just checked and what’s on the stream now matches the CW Austin listings, so we should be all set for tonight!

As of today, it looks like last week’s episode is available for streaming on the CW site, via Netflix, and for purchase (commercial free at Amazon and iTunes), and on Hulu to subscribers), so those will be good, legitimate alternatives for post-broadcast viewing for those of you in the USA.

In the meantime, episode 2 or 3 episode preview clips, and a couple of background clips to watch after the jump…

‘NIKITA 2×07 ‘Clawback’ preview clips

None of these feature Van, but they’re worth a watch…

Three preview clips courtesy of spoilersguide.com:

Promo 1 (0:29):

Promo 2 (0:29) – looks the same as promo 1, but they obviously think it’s two, so here’s the second link:

Sneak Peek #1 (jailhouse phone call scene, 1:11):

There was one posted a week ago by a fan (lousy quality since it was video’ed off the TV, but I haven’t seen this anywhere else. I couldn’t get the embed code to work, but here is a link.

(Many have speculated that it’s Van’s voice we’re hearing at 0:14 or so in the above clip – sure sounds like it could be!)

Nikita series promos

If you are unfamiliar with the show, there’s a great background video on YouTube explaining the premise of the show (it looks like it was produced before Season 1 aired last year):

And a Season 2 preview to get you caught up on Lyndsey Fonseca (ex-Colleen, Y&R)’s contribution to the show:

What you can take away from these? Lots of action. High production values….and lots of shots of Nikita in her skivvies. Let’s hope the men get equal treatment. 🙂

More extensive spoilers

Finally, from Hollywood Hills, some spoilers:
CW dropped new ‘Nikita’ episode 7,season 2 spoilers. We got some early spoilers in for the upcoming episode 7 of CW’s Nikita show, and they sound quite interesting as Amanda continues to try and keep up with Nikita, only to get burned because she’s just not good enough. The episode is entitled, “Clawback.”

In the new episode 7,while in prison, Ryan will discover patterns that reveal how Oversight gets its funding. Ryan will arrange a meeting with Nikita to fill her in on the details. However, Amanda will intercept their coded messages to each other, and alerts Oversight, who sends in one of their own to interrogate Ryan.

Nikita and Michael will scramble to break Noah out of prison before Oversight gets to him. Meanwhile, Alex is going to get tailed by Gogol, and comes face to face with someone from her past. Episode 7 airs Friday,November 4th at 7pm central time on the CW.
Most of the above is largely from the promo clips, so not so spoiler-y if you’ve already watched the videos. But it does offer one big hint about Van’s character:
Gogol, it turns out, is a what, not a who. According to the Nikita 2010 wikia, Gogol is “a Russian criminal organization…Nikita describes them as the Russian Division. It currently rivals Division and has attempted to have Nikita work for them without success.”

If you add this to Van’s post about ‘the Russians are coming’ and being not like Luke, it sounds like he could definitely be a Russian heavy. Van’s agency resume lists “Russian accent” as a “special skill” (Pale Swan, notwithstanding).

But the voice in the fan-made promo clip definitely sounds American, and there’s also the mysterious person from Alex’s past, so, we’ll see whether or not those skills will be put to use or not!
Less than 12 hours to go now. Woo hoo!
