Henry: He is not a nice guy! He is rude, and he is snide. He’s so conceited!
Katie: Okay, he’s not all warm and fuzzy. And on the outside, he’s a little cold.
Henry: Try heartless.
Katie: He’s driven.
Henry: He’s a monomaniac.
Katie: He’s focused. That’s why he’s a good doctor.
Henry: He is focused! He’s focused on himself all the time.

FanVid | Find My Way Back (Martha Byrne)

Five months later and I still have a tendency to listen to music with clips of LuRe running through the back of my mind. Am I pathetic, or what?

Martha Byrne on Find My Way Back

This song was sung by Martha Byrne at the ATWT fan event in Utrecht in January. I remember hearing this song years ago and thinking it was pretty, but listening to Martha’s intro  really cemented it at the top of my playlist this month. She talked about writing the song about Holden and Lily’s love, and singing it on the show on an episode where Holden finds Lily singing it in Italy. She also talked about how the song was just as much about her own love for acting partner Jon Hensley, and how the ring she wore was Lily’s ring from the show (which was saved for her when the show ended).

You can see the live version including most of the intro on YouTube. The description says it’s from the afternoon show, but Martha’s outfit (and intro) seem like the one I saw in the evening show.

Luke’s POV

I’ve been doing channeling a lot of Luke Snyder the last few weeks, between updating the Luke Snyder, This is Your Life playlist, and writing Simple Gifts sections from  Luke’s POV, and that can be seen in this song (and the long list of songs queued up for when I have more time!). That it’s sung by Luke’s on-screen mom just made it that much more meaningful for me, too.

BTW, though the song is angsty, the video’s not (other than being about Luke and Reid, which has its own intrinsic angst). I have to say, I was surprised when I went to look for clips. More Than Friends was conceived as an homage to sparkly Luke because I just adored all his HUGE smiles. But when I did this one, I was just completely tickled to find all the little moments when he just looked so happy, so contented.
