Henry: I want to prove to Katie that I’m right about you.
Reid: Prove what, that I’m not all warm and fuzzy? She already knows that.
Henry: When she finds out what kind of guy you really are, she is going to kick you out on your tail.

USA posts complete schedule for October 26th | Multiple showings for PSYCH Season 6 Episode 3, ‘This Episode Sucks’ with Kristy Swanson, Corey Feldman, and (of course) Van Hansis

USA Networks, home of PSYCH, starring James Roday and Dule Hill, have posted their complete schedules for October and much of November.

This makes it official: ‘This Episode Sucks’ will be the third episode of Season 6 and will air on October 26th at 10pm ET. Okay, so that’s not really news, I’ve been speculating on that for weeks now. But there will likely be three broadcasts during the initial run.

With three airings of PSYCH between October and November, Occupant’s release on VOD/DVD, and the mystery guest appearance, that means we could see Van on-screen five times in three weeks. That’s almost more air time than he had while appearing regularly on ATWT!….and that’s assuming that you only watch the Occupant video once. Yeah. Like THAT’s likely. ;P

Details on broadcast dates and times plus information on post-broadcast online viewing info and misc. tidbits, after the jump…

Initial USA Networks broadcast air dates and times

In addition to the regular 10pm Wednesday broadcast slot, the USA schedule shows ‘This Episode Sucks’ airing again later that night (early the next morning) at Thursday, October 27th at 1am.

Also, though not formally confirmed, if USA remains true to pattern, the episode will also re-air on the following Wednesday, November 2nd, at 7am. They haven’t actually published the name of the 7am episode that day, but if you look at the 7am episode that aired on 19th, it’s the prior week’s episode, so it’s a good bet. Before the episode on the 26th is a little more complicated because….

…On the morning of Wednesday October 26th, USA is running a Halloween ‘stack’ (like a mini-Marathon) of PSYCH episodes. Starting at 6am, they are airing three episodes back-to-back:

  • 6am ‘Let’s Get Hairy’ (Episode 4.4008)
    EPISODE PREMIERE: October 9, 2009
A man fears he is dangerous to society and enlists Shawn and Gus’ help because, he claims, he is a werewolf.
  • 7am ‘The Devil’s in the Details…and in the Upstairs Bedroom’ (Episode 4.4004)
    EPISODE PREMIERE: August 28, 2009
A priest and former teacher of Shawn and Gus’ calls them for help when he claims an apparent suicide was in fact the work of the devil. Ed’s note": an exorcism is involved….
  • 8am ‘Tuesday the 17th’ (Episode 3_3015)
    EPISODE PREMIERE: February 13, 2009
Shawn and Gus are hired by a childhood friend to find a missing camp counselor who disappeared near their old sleep away campgrounds. Upon their arrival, spooky activity abounds and they must uncover if the dark past of the abandoned camp has come back to life.

Season 6, Episode 2 (the one before ‘This Episode Sucks’) is called ‘Last Night Gus’ and debuts October 19th. I believe it would normally re-air at 7am on the 26th, but because of the ‘stack’, it will be re-aired instead the night before – on Tuesday October 25th at 11pm.

Last, the October 26th episode, ‘This Episode Sucks’ will air following an NCIS marathon lead-in. These have generally had good ratings, I believe (I would watch if I could get USA!) with non-stop NCIS airing from 12noon to 9pm immediately prior to PSYCH, with an episode of NCIS: LA thrown in the mix, and the last one being a Season 8 (new episodes airing on CBS this season are Season 9) episode, ‘Enemies Domestic’ (Episode 8.09).

Post-broadcast viewing and online options

As a reminder, for viewers in the US, full episodes can be viewed on the USA Networks site. As the USA site says:

The first episodes of In Plain Sight, Suits and Necessary Roughness, and the first two episodes of White Collar, Covert Affairs, Burn Notice and Royal Pains, will be available online the day after they first air, with all remaining new episodes available 30 days after they first air.

They don’t mention PSYCH, but I tweeted Ted Linhart (@TedOnTV), SVP of Research, USA Network and CLOO, earlier this evening to confirm that ‘This Episode Sucks’ will be available for viewing on the USA site 30 days after initial airing. Here is the conversation:

@TedOnTV – can you confirm how soon after air date/time are PSYCH episodes available on USA site/Hulu, etc.? Thanks. 3 hours ago

lovelureuk Love Lure
@TedOnTV – Also, will Season 6 be available on Amazon and/or iTunes for digital d/l, and if so, will they be available in HD? Thx again. 3 hours ago

TedOnTV Ted Linhart
@lovelureuk our rules allow 1st ep on line next day – remaining 30 day delay – do not know dates on other ways or HD 3 hours ago

@lovelureuk Love Lure
@TedOnTV -Thx for reply. Sorry to be dense, but does ‘1st ep’ mean "Darth" avail next day, and ‘Last Nt Gus’ and thereafter at airdate + 30? 2 hours ago

TedOnTV Ted Linhart
@lovelureuk yes that is correct 1 hour ago

So, the episode should be available to watch, for free, legitimately, within the US, on the USA website by mid-November. In the meantime, I’m pretty sure PSYCH is broadcast in HD, and that the HD versions are available for purchase at Hulu (to subscribers), iTunes, Time-Warner On Demand and Amazon Instant Video. However, I believe the 30-day policy may apply to the for-sale versions as well, and none of these are available outside the United States to the best of my knowledge (sorry, folks).

I know when Van first announced he had a guest spot on PSYCH that I found at least one safe site that streams PSYCH for those of you outside the US. I’ll repost the links to any legit streaming and download sites closer to the episode air date.

Happy watching!
