Judge: Are you telling the court you’re leaving Oakdale, Dr. Oliver?
Reid: As fast as I possibly can, your honor. Yes, if I could flap my wings and bust through your ceiling, already be on my way.
Judge: You realize you’ve just told me you’re a flight risk?
Reid: Are you kidding me? Where am I? What is this horrible rabbit hole that I’ve fallen down?

IHMTD, Wedding Day and PSYCH updates…plus another teaser from Van Hansis

Had to laugh just now as Shaggy (of Scooby Doo fame) repeated the mnemonic, “Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey” trying to remind himself which way to twist (of course, he got it backwards, it’s Left Loosey, Righty Tighty!).

And speaking of tight, how ‘bout them jeans? In honor of the one year anniversary of the “golf” episode:

With thanks to whomever posted “thank you, wardrobe!” in pointing out that you get a peek of some abdomen on the follow-through…

Now, onto the news for today…

I Hate My Teenage Daughter premiere postponed

Thanks to the eagle-eyed fans at ESS.com, we have an update from TVbyTheNumbers.com which reports that the premiere date for Eric’s new FOX sitcom, I Hate My Teenage Daughter has been delayed until November 30th. They say:

“I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER” TO PREMIERE WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30, ON FOX

I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER, the new family comedy starring Jaime Pressly and Katie Finneran as single moms, best friends – and former nerds – who fear their privileged and overly indulged daughters are turning out just like the mean girls who picked on them in high school, will now debut on Wednesday, Nov. 30 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) after The X Factor on FOX.

Note: the show was originally scheduled to premiere on 11/23.

Studio audience tickets are currently still available for the three filming dates in September, and there are six additional dates on the calendar for October and November, all before the premiere air date.

I just checked out the show’s Facebook which also lists the FOX Press Release – and there is definitely a lot of Eric-love on there (no wonder they think we’re stalkers!).

Van’s Co-Guest-Star, Kristy Swanson to return to PSYCH

A couple of quick Van updates. First, TV Guide reports that Kristy Swanson will reprise her role as Marlowe in a second episode of PSYCH; Marlowe is said to be a love interest for Lassiter, one of the show’s regular leads.

In my estimation, this increases Van’s chances of appearing for a second episode from about 0% to maybe 5%. To understand why, you need to be spoiled, so if you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t read! First, a minor and well-publicized spoiler:
Marlowe is the sister of Van’s character, so if she reappears (or becomes recurring or even a regular secondary cast member), by virtue of being associated with her, Van’s chances of reappearing are likely to increase.
But I don’t increase his chances enormously, and you will need to read a MAJOR spoiler to understand the rationale for that one.
According to the audition sides for his part, it looks like he’s the perp, so I would guess he will be cooling his heels in a prison, psychiatric hospital, or just plain hospital – all of which sound possible given the show’s apparent denouement.
But you never know. 5% is better than 0%!

Van’s Facebook updates on Wedding Day, a possible live theater role, and more

Van was on Facebook a couple of nights ago, chatting with fans for roughly an hour (posts timestamped from about 5:30-6:30am GMT, which would be roughly 9-10pm Pacific Time). It sounds like he was in LA during Hurricane Irene for anyone worrying. Lots of political discussion, some book and film recommendations, and another nod to Calvin and Hobbes fans.

In the meantime, he replied to at least two queries about upcoming projects. First, regarding the Wedding Day short that is filming in New York:

Van FB - Have you started Wedding Day

This is consistent with his previously posted update that said he’d start filming in September (can it be September already?!?)

And also this teaser:

Van FB - Looking into Theatre

(I say at least two because I’ve hidden a lot of the posts on his Wall, so I miss some of his replies as well).

Interestingly, I just looked on IMDb and found a Wedding Day (2011) listed. I as surprised to find that there was promotional art for it already and finally concluded that this is the wrong film as it was filmed in LA and is already in post-production (wonder if Van’s will get renamed to avoid confusion).

Interestingly, though Van is not in this Wedding Day, Kyle Lowder is (Rick Forrester on B&B, admittedly not my favorite Rick – Jacob Young can’t get back fast enough!) as is an actress named Jade Tailor (Luke’s cousin on ATWT was Jade Taylor).

Let’s hope for more work for Van soon!

Thank you for the update! I’m totally hanging out for the Psych ep, and really interested in reading the audition sides for Van’s character. Are you possibly able to post them? Or if not, maybe provide a run-down of scenes featuring Adrian, Marlowe, and Lassiter? 😉

Thanks for the comment, Darkling. I am not comfortable posting the sides b/c I had to pay for them, and presumably they’re copyrighted material. In the sides (not sure if he has scenes beyond what’s shown in the sides)i, I can tell you that Van’s interactions are primarily with one of the series regulars and he has a decent amount of lines. There’s something scary about being the only fan that seems to be nuts enough to have actually looked at these things (I found the link on the PSYCH forum, I think)……Hey! I just realized I’ll be in the US on October 19th and 26th, so I actually have a decent shot of seeing this episode of PSYCH when it airs! Woot woot. You (I) just made my morning! 🙂
