Ho hum. Another day, another cool two grand raised for charity (in about 36 hours, no less). For a warm-fuzzy feel-good view of this fandom, you can check out Jenny Sheffer Stevens’s God’s Love We Deliver donation page. The $2,000 raised by Jenny and Eric puts them at number 9 on the list of individual runners in this weekend’s event (no, I’m not competitive!).
The ESS crew’s Colleen reports via Facebook and the ESS.com forum, that Eric’s response to hearing about the skyrocketing donations was, “Cool. Thanks for putting it out there. It’s a great charity… I’ll run faster now.”
Post-race, Colleen added: “Eric and Jenny are floored by the support of all they do and so appreciative. Eric finished in under 30 minutes and Jenny in just over 40. Great job for a great cause.”
Organizers confirm that the sponsor page will remain open until December.
Now, off to donate to my own pet charities before the taxman cometh….
After Molly’s manufactured “evidence” is found to be phony, Holden is arrested as the prime suspect in the murder of Damian Grimaldi. In a desperate attempt to clear Holden’s name, Luke takes photos of the dead body (believed to be Damian) to Memorial to see if Bob Hughes can shed any light. Instead, he (literally) runs into Reid, who is able to definitively conclude that the body in the picture is not Damian.
Henry escapes from quarantine and Katie, peeved, tells him she won’t go to Casey and Alison’s wedding with him. So Henry turns to Barbara, and Katie accepts Reid’s offer to go to the wedding to suck up to Bob be her date. Mick Dante shows up at the wedding, shoots Paul, and all hell breaks loose. Bob feigns a stroke and Reid helps to get him and the women-folk away from the nutjob. (Note: Reid appears in this episode without Luke).

A news item to file in the “truth is stranger than fiction” archives, the UK papers today are abuzz with a story about an airplane which “exploded into a ball of flames” near Birmingham airport. On board were two passengers and a liver designated for transplant, all of whom (which?) were rescued and survived – and apparently the transplant was conducted successfully and the recipient is in stable condition.
According to the Telegraph:
Eyewitnesses said it was on fire as it came into land. …A brave air ambulance pilot was able to cut the fuel line in the burning jet before rescuing the two crew members trapped on board….Foggy conditions made the rescue mission extremely difficult…The pilot of the Cessna, a 58-year-old man, was trapped in the wreckage…(Another) Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance pilot bravely entered the burning wreckage, using his aviation and technical knowledge to locate and cut the fuel supply to the engine and make the patient more accessible to the fire service…Following the accident, emergency workers faced a race against time to get the organ to its destination, but managed to deliver it undamaged.
Truly heroic and pretty amazing. Bleeping train!

Hi everyone – according to host Ryan Holmes, today’s BlazinRy show was one of Today’s Picks on BlogTalkRadio (gee, wonder why?!). Ryan was on the chat room and I asked him how the show did, and he guestimated that it tied with Jake for most popular (can’t recall the exact wording b/c the chat is so active it fell off my screen before I could write it down).
And here’s a screen cap of “Today’s Picks.” They rotate through the right side of your screen (see below). Incidentally, there was a recent thread on the ESS.com about the color of Eric’s eyes – this photo does a pretty good job of capturing them!
I got most of it, but not quite all (too much RL going on around me). So the highlights:
In Silent House Eric will be playing the Uncle, and he will be in the house with the dad and the daughter. It sounds like the are keeping true to the original and filmed it single camera, single shot – and it will be creepy.
The actress who played Jessica the babysitter (Rebecca B whose last name I’ll have to IMDB) went to the same school as Eric and her appearance in both was a coincidence – she earned it on her own merits.
He wasn’t a big fan of his part in Twelfth Night (Orsino?) but thought Jenny was great.
No plans to move to LA though he will entertain auditions there.
